Santa Monica, California, February 7, 2012 –  Interscope recording artist Zander Bleck is putting the finishing touches on his debut set, Monument, which will be released later this year. For a sneak peek at what this rocker has to offer two songs, “Temptation” and “Bring It On,” will be available for sale digitally today,  February 7th.

“Temptation” was written by Zander and Holly Knight (who penned hits for Heart, Tina Turner and Pat Benatar) and was the song that got the attention of producer RedOne (Lady Gaga, Usher). "Temptation" is the first single off Monument, which was recorded in various studios around the globe in 2010, and the early part of 2011. 

A subsequent studio session with famed producer Mutt Lange produced the track “Bring It On” which is currently featured in Fox Television’s regional and national promos for the PAC 12 NCAA conference games.  

A self-taught vocalist, Zander grew up in Hunterdon County, NJ, where at the age of nine fell in love with rock and roll while watching a video of The Who perform at Woodstock. Upon graduating high school, Zander moved to New York City and started his first rock band, Monument. He began to write songs and was able to get Monument gigs all over the city. Zander branched out on his own and used his connections to line up songwriting sessions that led to him signing a deal with Interscope Records.

Snow Patrol end the UK leg of the current Fallen Empires tour this week with shows in Sheffield, Bournemouth and three nights at the O2 Arena in London this weekend.

Bournemouth and the first two O2 arena shows are all completely sold out, with a limited amount of tickets left available for Sunday night’s show at the O2 in London. Ticket details for that are available here.

To celebrate the end of the UK tour we have a few more pairs of tickets left to give away this week. First up with have virtually the last pair of tickets in Bournemouth ready to give away to a fan who can complete the Snow Patrol lyric below:

The 'Nine Types of Light' film is availble now on DVD at Amazon and long form digital video at  iTunes.  

The film Nine Types of Light is meant to be an aesthetic re-imagining of the record, and includes a music video for every song on the album. The band asked their friends and the filmmakers they admired to help direct the music videos.

Tunde Adebimpe, the director for the full Nine Types of Light movie, storybooked the music videos together with interviews from local New Yorkers on various topics, including dreams, love, fame and the future.

Nine Types of Light is nominated for a 2012 Grammy award for "Best Long Form Music Video." Tune in Sunday, February 12th at 8/7c to CBS to watch the awards.

Firstly WE were there. Fit, healthy and raring to go. And if that is ever the case we will never cancel a show (to be honest there have been many ocassions when we’re not any of those things and the show happens anyway….). Also 13 thousand plus paying fans made it to the show snow or not and we wouldn’t want to let them down plus there is no way our insurance would cover us pulling a gig if most of the ticket holders are in the building even if we wanted to, which we didn’t.

I once lost my voice due the polyps on the vocal chords in the middle of a US tour (2006ish) and we had to cancel (at the time, although we did reschedule the dates six months later) the rest of the tour while I recovered. I remember the feeling of helplessness and shame I was clothed in at the time. The thought of letting people down burns me like a hot blade. I vowed then to always take good care of my throat and voice on tour so as to never cancel another show. So the cries from some folk last night and this morning that we should have cancelled/postponed the gig rather than do it is very confusing to me. I hope you’ll realise that if our legs and arms are attached and I can raise my voice than we’ll do the show no matter what.

Now if the numbers were reversed and thousands of people couldn’t make it and only hundreds could then it could be argued that the show should be moved to a different date. I’m not exactly a trekkie but the old Vulcan proverb fits nicely here “the needs of the many outway the needs of the few”. Hope you understand that we needed to think about the 13 thousand people plus IN the building not the several hundred that couldn’t make it. This won’t help right now as you’ll be pissed off you missed the show but when the anger passes maybe it will. If it still doesn’t I really don’t know what to say other than I hope you’ll come see us again sometime and if you won’t then good luck to you. Love, luck and happiness always. gL.x
