Secret 7" is an exciting project combining music and art in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Seven bands and recording artists are inviting creatives to design the artwork for a seven inch vinyl sleeve inspired by one of their songs. The project will culminate in 700 unique vinyl sleeves displayed in Idea Generation Gallery in London in the week leading up to Record Store Day 2012. On that day, each of the vinyls at the gallery will be available to purchase with all of the profits going to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sunday Best Recordings are thrilled to announce the 5^th December 2011 release of The Cure : Bestival Live 2011, a live recording of the iconic bands fabulous two and a half hour set performed at this year’s Bestival.

The double album, which is split over two CDs and also available as a digital download is made up of thirty-two Cure classics, including “The Lovecats”, “The Caterpillar”, “Close To Me”, “Friday I’m In Love”, “Lullaby”, “The Hungry Ghost”, “The End Of The World”, “Just Like Heaven”, “Grinding Halt”, “Jumping Someone Else's Train” and “Boys Don’t Cry”.

Robert Smith of The Cure says; “We had such a great time in the Isle of Wight at Bestival that we wanted to release this show as a way of thanking fans and islanders alike. Bestival IS the best!”

Rob da Bank, founder of Bestival says; “Since I was 15 and backcombing my hair, donning my sisters eyeliner and singing the lyrics to ‘A Forest’ into my hairbrush I’ve had an unhealthy fascination with The Cure. To say it reached its peak at Bestival 2011 is an understatement, as after seven years of pestering I not only landed The Cure to headline Bestival, but now appear to be putting out one of their live records on my own record label. How strange! For any of the 50,000 who were at Bestival and saw all or some of the two and a half hour set, this live album will transport you back. For fans of The Cure who didn’t make it I know this will be a legendary addition to your Cure collection!”

All profits from the sale of this album will go to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust (Reg Charity No: 1087163). The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is a charitable, independent and professional organisation offering counseling, advice, information and support services to young people aged 25 and under on the Isle of Wight (the home of Bestival) and, in some cases, their parents or carers. Tickets will go on sale at 12 noon on Thursday 20th October, and will be available only from the Royal Albert Hall, either by telephone 020 7589 8212, or at www.royalalberthall.com These tickets will not be available over the counter. You must quote or enter the passcode 9022

Tickets are priced at £37.50 per ticket plus RAH booking fee. They will be limited to 2 tickets per household, and sales will be restricted to those fans who have not yet managed to purchase a ticket. Bookings made by people who have already purchased tickets will be cancelled.

THE CURE “REFLECTIONS” - SEVEN FINAL PERFORMANCES

Featuring THREE IMAGINARY BOYS (1979), SEVENTEEN SECONDS (1980) and FAITH (1981) played in their entirety.

Due to overwhelming demand The Cure “REFLECTIONS” show - first experienced in the spring of 2011 at the Vivid Festival in Sydney - will be performed seven more times in November 2011.

"REFLECTIONS" sees an evolving line up of band members past and present playing the first three Cure albums live in their entirety - from the punchy, offbeat, starkly unadorned songs of Three Imaginary Boys (1979), through the increasingly shadowy and quixotic pieces of Seventeen Seconds (1980), to the singular melancholic grandeur of Faith (1981) - in a truly extraordinary concert experience.

This final chance to experience the "REFLECTIONS" show will happen in Europe at the Royal Albert Hall, London on Tuesday November 15th, and in the USA at the Pantages Theatre, LA on Monday 21st, Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd, and at the Beacon Theatre, NYC on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th.

Sydney Opera House today announced that the curator of Vivid LIVE, Stephen Pavlovic has secured one of the world’s most enduringly influential bands, The Cure to perform for Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House. Appearing onstage with a uniquely evolving line-up of band members past and present, The Cure “Reflections” will see the band perform their first three albums live, in their entirety, in an extraordinary concert experience exclusively for Vivid LIVE on May 31 and June 1.

While punk was still reverberating through popular culture, The Cure’s unique blend of moody, atmospheric and unforgettable songs pioneered a new era in popular music and marked them forg reatness from the start. Their strong sense of theatricality and unique styling gave birth to entirely new subcultures and new generations continue to discover their signature sound and make it the soundtrack to their lives.

The Cure have toured Australia many times but have never attempted a show such as this on our shores. Hear how they became the voice of generations with three releases that etched them into our consciousness. From the punchy, offbeat, starkly unadorned songs of Three Imaginary Boys, through the increasingly shadowy and quixotic pieces of SeventeenSeconds, to the singular melancholic grandeur of Faith, this is a rare chance to experience the origins of one of popular music’s greatest stories.

Vivid LIVE at Sydney Opera House (May 27– June 5) is a curated music festival and is part of Vivid Sydney (May 27 – June 13), the city’s annualfestival of light, music and ideas. Following on from Brian Eno (2009) and Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson(2010), Australia’s Stephen “Pav” Pavlovic of Modular has taken the reigns as curator for this unique event for 2011.

The Cure’s Robert Smith says, “Vivid LIVE is an exceptional event, and we are very excited to be taking part. We have played a lot of memorable shows in Australia – we first performed here in 1980, and this will be our seventh trip – but it will be our first time onstage in the Sydney Opera House, and we want to do something unique to mark the occasion. Combining Cure members past and present in a live filmed interpretation of our first three albums feels to me like it should do the trick!”

We’ve been itching to tell you this, so we’re deliriously happy that the time has finally come to unveil the very first wave of acts for Bestival 2011 and by crikey are we excited.

Yes! One of the most influential bands around, The Cure will be crossing the Solent to join us at the festival season’s last hurrah for their only European show of 2011! From their debut album ‘Three Imaginary Boys’ to 2008s critically acclaimed ‘4:13 Dream’, The Cure has inspired countless bands in the last three decades and whilst most of their contemporaries have fallen by the pop wayside they remain as relevant and vibrant as ever. As one of the Bestival crew’s collective favourite bands of all time, we’re all jumping for joy that The Cure is coming to the party to headline Saturday night at Bestival. September really can’t come quickly enough for us.

A gleeful Rob da Bank says: 'I’ve spent the last twenty years of my life listening to The Cure and the last five attempting to persuade Robert Smith and the crew to hop on a ferry to our magical Isle. I'm still not sure what we've done right but I'm overjoyed that they are coming as Saturday night headliners. Few bands have had such a massive impact on my life (and hairstyles) so I’ll see you down the front!'

Iconic Cure frontman Robert Smith commented: "I am delighted and excited that The Cure's only European festival performance in 2011 will be at Bestival… We will do all we can to help make it a weekender to remember!"

Topping this year’s Best Major Festival Award winning show will be no mean feat but Rob da Bank and the ever-trusty Besti-crew have left no stone unturned to make our 2011 show even better than ever ensuring that Bestival will be the festival for music lovers! Bestival’s eighth outing - taking place at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from the 8th to the 11th of September 2011 - is all set to be truly legendary. And here’s why!

Fresh from their triumphant Olympia gigs we can announce that the mighty Primal Scream will be presenting their landmark album ‘Screamadelica’ in its entirety, headlining the Big Top on Saturday night. ‘Screamadelica’ transformed the musical landscape in the early 90s and with the band’s current run of shows celebrating the album completely sold out this is a golden chance to catch a pioneering band performing their meisterwerk in all its coruscating glory. The legends keep on coming for Bestival 2011, with former Beach Boys kingpin Brian Wilson set to bring his baroque surf-pop to Robin Hill. Brian’s song writing prowess and production ingenuity has made him one of the most deeply revered figures in pop music and one of the most influential composers of the 20th Century. With a litany of timeless hits that can’t fail to ignite the main stage crowd, it’s a complete honour to have him onboard.

With the big hitters lining up thick and fast, Bestival’s reputation as the place to catch the freshest, best and most exciting music all spread across 14 stages continues with a host of acts, both old and new, currently causing a stir, including bass futurists Magnetic Man. The super-group that has brought Dubstep culture to the mainstream, Artwork, Benga and Skream will be unleashing a speaker smashing, rug cutting assault for your pleasure. Swedish chanteuse Robyn will be bringing her blend of pop nous and electro cool to the party. Described by the Guardian as the missing link between Abba and Orbital, Robyn’s boundless energy is sure to be infectious. The blogosphere’s biggest band right now Crystal Castles will deliver their synth punk stylings like only they can. Currently riding high with their ‘Not In Love’ single in collaboration with Robert Smith, Crystal Castles are at the top of their game ands an unmissable live act.

Fat beat brilliance at Bestival will come in the form of DJ Shadow who is currently slaying audiences on his Live from the Shadowsphere tour. DJ Shadow has consistently blown us away, so we really can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us. Bass-heavy Techno purveyors LFO will be on hand for some heads down action. One of Sheffield’s greatest exports LFO mainman Mark Bell keeps on pushing the envelope, so expect some proper heavy frequencies. Syrian superstar Omar Souleyman will be unleashing his ecstatic vibes, wild arpeggios and soaring synths on an unsuspecting crowd, the UK’s most exciting new pop star Katy B will be on a mission with added soul and bass, glitch-rockers 65daysofstatic will perform a live film score, Portsmouth’s finest Cranes will be playing their dadaphonic future songs, Berlin wunderkind Boys Noize will be cutting up the digital mayhem, Diplo will be smashing together eclectic rhythms for maximum impact, the youngest ever DJ to win a World DJ Battle Championship, A-Trak will be terrorising the turntables and Norman Jay will be bringing the good times like only he can.

Hip Hop stalwart and all round party starter Grandmaster Flash will be rocking some dope beats, illustrious reggae and dancehall selector David Rodigan will be dropping the irresistible riddims, 2 Bears featuring Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard will be turn loose the burly beats, DJ Mehdi and Riton’s Carte Blanche project will supply the weekend weaponry, minimalist techno don Pantha du Prince will be rolling out the low end acid-throb and just to keep the Bestival flavours brewing the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain will return to wow one and all.

There are still plenty more stellar acts to be announced, including two more headliners, plus there will be lashings of trademark Bestival off-the-wall behaviour with merriment, magic, mayhem and plenty of lovely tea and cakes. We’ve listened to all the feedback from you and have made a few little tweaks so that there will be some changes to the wondrous landscape of the UKs most creative festival courtesy of Josie da Bank’s eye-catching expertise that are going to make Bestival 2011 the greatest show on Earth! So what are you waiting for?

Commenting on Bestival 2011 Rob da Bank added: 'This year felt like a landmark year for Bestival. There's no avoiding the fact that we've become a large festival but I still feel we're more intimate than any of the other shows our size and, crucially, we're 100% independent. That means we book who we want to book, choose all the food stalls and traders ourselves and listen to our messageboards and fans 365 days a year to make sure we keep Bestival the best. Things we're focussing on for Bestival 2011 are keeping Besti as the place to see new bands, making the campsites much more of a community with better roadways to clear litter and make finding your tent easier, we're also starting to put stages at the other end of the site so it’s not just one long tunnel of stages. Robert Smith donates again to free the West Memphis Three

September 15, 2010: San Francisco, Calif. — Robert Smith of The Cure will be auctioning a new re-mastered double vinyl set of “Disintegration” autographed to raise money for the defense fund of Damien Echols (who is on death row), Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, Jr.—also known as the West Memphis Three http://www.wm3.org/ —who were convicted for murdering three elementary school children in 1994. Since the horrific crimes, DNA from the crime scene and victims has been tested by the country's most trusted crime lab, and none of it matches these three unjustly imprisoned men. Damien Echols' appeal for a new trial will be held on September 30 before the Arkansas State Supreme Court, and Jason and Jessie's attorneys will soon file motions for new trials with the ASSC.

The auction will last for 17 days—from September 20th to October 7th—one day for each year the West Memphis Three have spent behind bars. June 3, 2010 marked the 17th year anniversary that Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. have been behind bars for a crime they did not commit.

The starting bid for the vinyl has been set at $100.

The Cure’s eighth studio album, released in 1989, is the dark tour de force Disintegration.

Following on from 1987's outstanding Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me release, and spurred by the hits “Lullaby”, “Fascination Street“, “Lovesong” and “Pictures Of You”, the album quickly became the group’s most successful yet, with sales topping more than 3 million, as the band sold out stadiums and arenas around the world.

Polydor/Universal (ROW) and Rhino/WMG (North America) reissue this landmark album, remastering the original, adding a disc of unreleased out-takes and demos, plus a third disc that contains a live performance of the entire album recorded in 1989 over 3 nights at Wembley Arena, London, the European climax of the The Cure's global ‘Prayer Tour‘. This Deluxe Edition comes with a 20 page booklet containing previously unseen pictures and art, as well as lyrics and an in depth overview of the period by the band's founder Robert Smith.

Robert Smith compiled, produced, and supervised the mastering of this three-disc collection, which covers the evolution of Disintegration, from demos and rehearsals to studio and stage. The first disc contains newly remastered versions of the album’s original 12 tracks.

Gathering 20 unreleased tracks, the second disc trawls through Smith’s home recordings to find early instrumental demos of fan favourites “Pictures Of You”, “Prayers For Rain” and “Fascination Street.” The Cure can be heard rehearsing and arranging various instrumental versions, including ”Homesick”, “Closedown” and “The Same Deep Water As You”, as well as playing studio out-takes of several other tracks, including “Plainsong”. The disc also contains four unreleased songs: “Noheart”, “Esten”, “Delirious Night” and a cover of Judy Collins’ “Pirate Ships”, the latter a solo performance by Smith that was recorded for, but ultimately not included on, Rubáiyát, a 1990 album celebrating Elektra Records’ 40th anniversary.

For the final disc, Smith remixes and expands Entreat, a live album recorded in 1989 at Wembley Arena. Entreat Plus combines the original’s eight tracks, remixed with the four 'missing' songs to create a complete contemporary live version of Disintegration.

The complete 12 song Disintegration album is also available for the first time on vinyl as a remastered 2 disc release with lyric bags.
