Happy Holidays!!!! It’s almost 2008, finally time to release my record! The anticipation is killing me, it’s almost been 3 years now and I’m beyond ready to get back out on the road and see you all. I still don’t know exactly when my record will be coming out next year, but as soon as I find out I will of course let you all know. As usual, for the Holidays, I have given you all a new song (go to alexmaxband.com to download it now!). I’ve probably written and demoed over 100 songs in the last 3 years for this album and clearly not all of them have made the cut to actually being recorded for the album. Some were great, some not as good, but I thought this one that Arms and I wrote and demoed out was a bit different and cool and perfect as a gift. I hope you like it:) I’ve also posted a little video for you all with a personal Holiday message from me. You can find that also at www.alexmaxband.com for download or you can view it on my myspace page. As always, thank you for sticking with me through all these years of waiting…you guys are the best. Hey everyone! It's Alex Band here, singer of The Calling.

I wanted to let you all know about the exciting things that are going on. First, as some of you might know, I've been working on my solo album with Geffen records for quite some time now and we're planning on releasing it worldwide during the first half of next year. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am for you all to finally hear this record! I am extremely proud of it.

I also wanted to let you know that the song I wrote with Mitch Allan for the upcoming movie, The Final Season, is available to download TODAY on iTunes! So grab your copy and go check out the movie in theaters October 12th.

On October 26th, at the Hard Rock Café Universal City Walk, California, my second annual Alex Band's Donate Life Rocks Concert will take place. In addition to the concert and silent auction, there will be a pre-show party for pediatric patients from both Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Comprehensive Transplant Center and UCLA Health Systems. At the conclusion of the children's party our concert/Halloween party will begin! It's going to be a lot of fun, so come and meet the bands!

Due to the current state of the music business and how tough it is out there, the powers that be have decided it's best to release my album worldwide during the first quarter of next year. With a little more time, this record can be properly set up with all the money and push possible, not to mention completely perfecting the songs and recordings on the record and maybe even adding some more great ones. You guys are the most important to me and I am going to do everything in my power to continue to keep you in the loop and also give you new music until my record comes out (I'll sneak some stuff for you!).

For those of you in the US, I am going to be playing two shows as of now for Donate Life: My concert, 'Alex Band's Donate Life Rocks', here in Los Angeles at the Hard Rock Universal on October 26th featuring many other great artists and Halloween fun. And another show for Donate Life, November 10th in Richmond, Virginia at Toad's Place. Tickets will be available for both shows soon, so I hope to see some of you there.

Also, 'The Final Season', the movie I wrote the main song for called 'I'm Coming Home' will be coming out in October in theaters across the US and the song will be available for purchase online. I'll also be doing TV and press to coincide with the movie release. There are lots of other really exciting things in the works and I'm going to of course keep you all updated. I do believe things happen for a reason, and I think this new plan is for the best. I dream about the day when I will be touring the world and playing these new songs for you all. I miss that sooooo much! It's right around the corner, just stick with me and I promise you won't be disappointed. Talk to you soon. All the love

As most of you are aware, Geffen recording artist, Alex Band, and his wife, Jennifer Sky Band have been supporting Donate Life America for many years.

What you don't know is, over the past several months Alex and Jennifer have been in the process of creating their own "Donate Life" organization. This new and exciting organization will be known as "Alex Band's Donate Life Rocks" and is being created to promote organ, eye and tissue donation awareness through concerts and events using the entertainment industry.

This July, Alex Band's Donate Life Rocks will produce its first concert in conjunction with the Hard Rock Cafe Universal City in Los Angeles.
Over the next few weeks we will be announcing the line up, venue and all details associated with the event. We are all thrilled with this exciting news and hope that you will all support this new organization.

Denise Mancini Tripp, whom most of you know through her sixteen years with the United Network for Organ Sharing and Donate Life America, will be handling the day-to-day operation of Alex Band's Donate Life Rocks. However, Alex and Jennifer will be involved in all aspects of this organization.

Hey everyone! The record is almost done being mixed now! Only five more songs to go! I still don’t have a release date yet, but I’m hoping to know more in the next month as my finished record begins to circulate around my record label. I wanted to let you all know about something else exciting as well. I am currently in NY doing press and performances for an upcoming movie called "The Final Season". They are premiering the movie at the Tribeca film festival here on Saturday.

It’s a really great movie and a superb writer named Mitch Allen and I wrote the end credit song. I don’t know when the movie will be released, but I’ve heard end of summer. The song should be available on iTunes when my record is released later this year. More news to come!

Hey everyone! I wanted to give you all an update, as my timeline has unfortunately changed a bit. Just this last week, I did the final live string sessions for the record, it was by far the most magical moment yet. Check back later today to watch it all in the 15^th in-studio video!

I will be doing some final tweaking this coming week on the album, and then we will be mixing everything in a couple weeks, which will take some time as well. I don’t know how much you all know about the current state of the music business, but it is very, very bleak. Major labels are dropping like flies, record stores are closing left and right, and bands…talented bands, are getting let go on a daily basis. It’s a sad thing to be a part of this and watch it over the last bunch of years. Needless to say, this does affect me. Every step I take to push my record to come out sooner, I have to take another step back, due to other circumstance that I have no control over. Now, with all that said, I want you all to know that my record will come out this year, it will be better than you can imagine, and my label is very much behind it. All this extra time has done nothing but let me write more incredible songs and make this record sound even better…so there is a positive! But obviously, just like all of you, I am wanting to be out there touring and sharing this album with the world. It’s getting very close, but it won’t be this month like I was told. Instead of specifying an actual week or month, I am just going to tell you guys once I know the actual date, when it is set in stone. I am still as excited as I’ve been, if not more, and I will continue to update you all on the rest of the process. All the love!!!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

Wow, it’s almost 2007! I never thought the day would come! Next year is going to be amazing! My record is finally going to come out and I get to tour the world again and see you all! There’s still much work to be done on the record…next month I will be finishing up the two songs I’m currently working on with Matt Serletic, doing all the live strings for the 6 songs I recorded with Tal, recording 3 other songs with two new producers, finishing producing the song Arms and I wrote, and finally mixing everything with an amazing mixer named Jack Joseph Puig! And then of course it will be time to get a kick ass band together and get ready for the fun stuff!

The first single is still due out March and the record will be released worldwide sometime around June. As always, I wanted to leave you all a special Holiday treat, so Debbie has been kind enough to put it up on her site for download: www.alexmaxband.com. It’s one of my favorite songs that I wrote and produced out myself earlier this year here at my house. Unfortunately it’s one of many songs that didn’t make it on this record, so I thought I should share with all of you!

Also, the last in-studio video of the year will be put up this Friday and it’s going to be a good one. I’m off to Florida for the Holidays and will be returning at the beginning of the year to get back to work! I want to thank you all again for your continued support…I have the best family of fans a guy could ask for! So, I wish you all a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year and I’ll see you in 2007!

HELLOOOOOO!

I wanted to check in and wish all you American fans a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm currently taking a week off and vacationing in Florida for Thanksgiving. But I will be back in the studio starting next week....Which means more in-studio videos very soon! I spent the last two weeks writing some great new songs. I don't know which ones will end up on the record though...I've already got so many crazy tracks!

The schedule for the album and single release are still right on target. The first single is scheduled for end of first quarter next year release, with the album coming out end of second quarter. And to answer all you international fans' questions, the album will of course be released worldwide! Although I will be spending ample time here in the States to promote the first single, I am so looking forward to traveling abroad again and coming to see you all...It's been toooooo long! I'M RECORDING!!! | News

I just got home from my first day in the studio recording my solo record! I can't even explain how good it felt to be in there putting these songs down on tape that have been swimming in my head for a year and a half now (granted, there is no "tape" anymore :). We started today with the song "Euphoria", which you might have heard a clip from the live acoustic show I did last week. I tell you, the acoustic clip does this song no justice! It's sounding amazing with the full band, who by the way are insanely good players...I can't wait for you guys to hear it! I did a little filming today around the studio and I'm going to make it a point at the end of each week to put at least one video together to give to you all. I'll of course be taking some pictures as well of all that goes on behind the scenes. It's looking like I will be recording through until later in November to finish this monster and then unleash it upon the world in the first half of next year...HA HA HA! ;) Anyway, I just wanted to tell you all how happy I am to be in the studio finally doing my thing...I have been and will continue to pour my heart and soul into this record and I hope when you listen to it next year you can feel these songs...not just hear them. I'm so lame I couldn't even sleep last night cause I was so excited...so now I'm tired...I'll check in again soon! All the love...

Hey guys! I can't thank you all enough for visiting my Myspace page! I love reading all your comments about the two new demos I put up:) It's been a very long time coming, and lots of political battles have been waged, but I am finally starting to record my record next month! An amazing producer named Matt Serletic will be producing some of the songs and a few other producers will be doing the rest. Matt is most well known for doing Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, and Collective Soul, to name a few. I can't even begin to express to you all how frikkin happy I am that I'm finally going to make my record! Expect a release date of Spring next year. Touring around the world and seeing you all feels like a part of my life and soul that has been missing for some time now, but I'm getting it back! I'll check in soon:) All the love...

Happy Holidays Everyone! And Happy New Year! I’ve spent this whole year creating a massive catalogue of new songs for my solo album. 40+ songs to chose from! 2005 was full of many changes for me, but all for the good and I’m ready for 2006 to share with the world everything that I’ve been working so hard on. Next year is going to be huge! As a little Holiday gift to you all, I thought it would be great to share with you one of those many songs I’ve written! They’re all still in demo form, recorded here in my little studio at home, so expect to hear a much more exciting version next year. New Exciting Info! It’s amazing;) I finally just passed a key moment that I’ve been waiting for…I signed my name on the dotted line to become part of A&M/Interscope’s family of artists! So why is it that I signed with A&M you might ask? Well, other than their amazing roster of musicians, my good friend who signed me to RCA 8 years ago runs the company! Yes, Ron Fair, my next-door neighbor from many moons ago, right there on good old Camino Palmero, where it all started, has signed me again! He left RCA shortly after I finished The Calling’s first record in 2000 to become the head of A&M and has since done very well for the label. I’m super excited about this new partnership and I can’t wait to meet my new team who vow to make this record huge when it comes out next year! Currently, I’m still writing and recording as I go, with multiple producers and it’s making for some insane music! I’ve got classic “Calling-like” love songs, big rock songs, songs that have dance, R&B and urban beats, underneath larger guitar driven rock, piano based songs, female vocalists, church choirs, horn sections, big string sections, you name it! Anyway, I’m going to start working on a kick ass website now and try to have it up as soon as possible for you guys cause I really want to start sharing audio, pictures and video of the recording process! I know I’ve said this a million times already, but I really can’t wait for you guys to hear this stuff next year…I can’t wait to be standing on stage all around the world playing it for you all. 9.16.05 - Long time no talk! I'm sorry I haven't checked in for a while, but I have been super busy with my new record. We've got a producer on board who I am really excited about...he was my number one pick to do the record and when he told me he'd loved to work with me, I was on cloud nine! Working with him has been awesome and we just wrote a song together that's incredible. I can't wait for you all to hear it! This record is gonna kick major ass! I'll be checking in again with you all very soon to let you know what label I have signed with (finally!) and all the info regarding the recording process, which will begin shortly. On a side note, I wanted to let you all know that I will be joining my Dad for a few stops in Texas on his crazy road show across the country. Hey everyone! Just giving you a quick update on what’s going on with me. I’m just finishing writing for my solo record and we now have a collection of over 20 amazing songs to chose from! We’re currently finding the right producer now and are planning to start recording by September. I’m sooooo excited! As a little treat for you guys while you wait, I happened to dig up the funniest old home video of me ever, and I wanted to share it with you all! It’s my 6th grade elementary school graduation. Not much has changed, I was still fixing my hair every other second 13 years ago and writing songs and playing guitar. This video is extra special because it was my first live performance EVER. My elementary school had a Greek Olympics theme for our graduation, so forgive my toga! Hello! Welcome to my new website! I know it doesn’t look like much now, but it will be up and running in no time and I promise it will rock! So, as most of you have heard by now, I have decided to put The Calling on hold and do a solo record. I am extremely excited about this and trust me, the future will be great! The two shows we played last month were the last Calling shows for the time being. Thank you to all the fans who came from all over the country, and even Canada to see us play! The shows were incredible to say the least. I know you have many questions right now, and I’ll do my best to answer them here in this letter and on the upcoming message board on this site. So, starting with the incredible band we now have playing with us…if all goes as planned, they will be right behind me on stage next year when I go back on tour for my solo album. We have all become close friends and they are an extremely talented bunch of guys. I’m looking forward to getting back on the road with them and my new material and so are they. We will ALWAYS play everyone’s favorite Calling songs live. That is extremely important to me and will not change. As for our online site and The Loft…addresses and layouts will change, but our awesome community of friends will not. I hope to see everyone follow me on this new journey. I am no longer working with RCA/BMG. I will be working with a new major label that will take care of me very well. I have surrounded myself with friends and supporters to take me to the next level, so I can tour the world again on an even bigger scale and see each and every one of you. I hope to have big success as a solo artist and I plan on revisiting The Calling later on. That is my ideal situation. I wish I could sit you all down now and play you the demos of my new material I have created, cause I’m so excited to share it with you…but that would take too long! At least I know you will all be hearing it soon! My mission for the rest of this year is to include you all on every step of my solo career; My new online site and The Alex Band Loft soon to open, which record label I am soon to be signed to, when I will be going into the studio, video and audio of the creation of my new record, etc. So, stay tuned and I will fill you in on all that is to come. Thank you all again for the love and support you have given me over the last 4 years. I will cherish those memories for the rest of my life…and I’m on my way to making new ones. All the love…
