AVA reviewed in Boston Globe [ « Back ] Tom Delonge on AVA and their new album. The resulting tracks, which DeLonge describes as "cinematic," are a collection of overblown guitars and echoey vocals. Each song comes in at more than four minutes, which is almost double the length of most blink tunes. The themes here are deeper, too. Opener "Valkyrie Missile" -- which DeLonge explains was named after a nuclear warhead-wielding missile in the Cold War -- talks about destruction leading to something beautiful (the end of blink-182 making way for Angels). "Distraction" tells the story of finding love in the midst of war, and "A Little's Enough" is a daydream about God fixing the entire world in a day.
