COSMIC VAN: Transmission 11 - The Land Of LincolnPosted 10/13/2009 by CosmicVan We pulled into Champaign, Illinois for the University of Illinois homecoming weekend. The whole town was full of orange-wearing happy midwestern families. If you've been following the blog, you know that I'm from the midwest myself, so if felt a lot like home. Except for the weather...32 degrees. Ouch. We headed down to the campus strip- Green Street was surprisingly cool. Found out there are a lot of Wolfmother fans in Champaign. They were hollering, so, of course we hooked them up with some t-shirts and posters. The buttons are also a big hit for the hoodie-wearing areas of the country. The next morning we headed to Memorial Stadium for the homecoming football game against Michigan State. You'll notice that the fans were very excited after tailgating extremely early in the morning. Unfortunately, Illinois got stomped. After the game we cruised around through the crowd just to show off the van. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long.
