Wolfmother -->
 COSMIC VAN: Transmission 9 - Greetings From The MidwestPosted 10/8/2009 by CosmicVan About 50 miles outside of Kentucky the van got a bit cranky and it took me a little while to convince it to push on. While waiting for the van to cooperate, I went into the convenience store and found "Old Glory - America's Best Energy Drink". It was basically a can shaped flag so I had to buy it. In case you're wondering what it tasted like, it was like drinking patriotism, and it felt good. As a bonus, the national anthem was printed on the back. Refreshed and rejuvinated, we surged through to Louisville!
Once we arrived, we popped into Ear X Tacy, a local record shop. Easily one of the coolest places ever. The employees were pumped about the van and the new record coming up so we hooked them up with some posters and stickers for their customers. Turns out they were having a couple in-store performances so we stuck around. We heard some really great artists. We also made friends with some friendly folks at the local Starbucks. Erin actually offered to have us over for dinner the following night. Unfortunately, we had to be off to spread the Wolfmother word. After all, St Louis needs love too, right?
This being our first time in St Louis, we had to get some photos with the famed St. Louis Arch and Busch Stadium, which is an amazing new building. At the hotel we made some new friends and one of them was a super big fan named Nick. He called his wife for permission to roll with the Wolfmother van and kept sending her pictures. Needless to say, when he gets back to Little Rock they've both got shirts and swag. Then we drove around for a minute and played the record for the new friends and stopped at a local spot to catch the end of the Cardinals game. Unfortunately for the locals, the Cardinals lost, but we still had a good time with fellow fans and even caught a live show.
We seem to be bringing the rain with us wherever we go. Hopefully it won't follow us to Columbia, Missouri, because we're off to the Mizzou/Nebraska home game today. See you all at the tailgate!
