Well well what can I say??? Your "Sol-Angel and The Hadley St. Dreams " is out of this world and thank God because music is not what it used to be!!!!! I truly believe you shut up a lot of naysayers and full blown haters!!!! I don't even know where to begin. The opening song just put me in the zone. I'm 36 years old so that old school sound of the 70s is what I grew up listening to and you sounded so much like the lead singers of numerous girl groups from way back. The vocals and lyrics just opened me up completely and the tracks keep on flowing and flowing.
Fluidity and genius come to mind because I could hear consideration was taken when the tracks were being laid. Every thing just flows beautifully and I didn't experience that "jolt" that I get when certain "artists" play a "fast" songs directly behind slow songs.
Congratulations on your lineup of talented people who lent the their time and talent to this project!!!!! I have nothing but praise for your album. I heard "I Decided" when I caught the video on BETJ but when I watched your Mom on HSN and I heard "SandCastle Disco" playing in the background, I lost my mind!!!!! I went to work the next day and told my friend the song was hot and I couldn't stop bouncing around the house. The beat is so catchy and the lyrics are so fly!!!!!
After listening to your CD, I come to the conclusion that your intuition and feeling aid you in your songwriting ability because you brought tears to my eyes and had me looking up at the sky when I really listened to "Cosmic Journey". Kudos to you and Bilal!!! I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove that song!!!! It is so romantic and airy and has this girl wishing on a star. The techno groove that comes behind is FABULOUS!!!!! If its possible please release that as a single and include a video.
Solange, I don't know what else there is to say other than God Bless you and please keep making great music. I love your CD so much I am going to purchase it for a friend of mine who is a music lover like me but can't get to the store on the account of having broke her ankle. I can't wait for her to heal and purchase it so as a "get well" gift, I'm going to surprise her with it.
