I saw Mos Def on "Real Time" the other night, and it occurred to me that Mos Def's desire to be seen as an activist and advocate could be enhanced if someone were to help him improve his ability to articulate his thoughts. He seemed like a genuine human being who wants to make a difference in what he does. We need individuals out there who can speak to their audiences, and wouldn't it be great if they could set a good example as far as the importance of appearing to have a command of the English language and the ability to speak eloquently? The ability to influence would be sharply increased. I have a degree in communications and public relations and would be happy to help Mos Def repackage his advocate/activist persona. It really would require little more than understanding what he wanted to say and offering advice on how best to present that information to his audience. He could learn a lot and could pass this on. It's a win/win situation, as I see it.
