Mos Def gets a four star review of his new album The New Danger in the November '04 issue of Rolling Stone on newsstands now.
Among the comments made by reviewer Tom Moon include "It's all part of the Mos Def master plan to, as he explains on the gritty 'Life Is Real,' 'reach the world but touch the street first.' The fed-up rhymes and sweetly sung refrains of The New Danger do exactly that, broadening the hip-hop palette without sacrificing, or selling out, its core ideals." Due to scheduling problems it is unfortunate that Pharrell Williams has had to withdraw from his commitment as the 2004 MOBO Awards host. The MOBO Awards are honored and privileged to have Mos Def hosting: "I'm really looking forward to coming to London and hosting the MOBO Awards 2004."

On September 18, the comedian will celebrate the music and culture of New York by throwing the Chappelle Block Party, an old-fashioned neighborhood jam that'll include musical performances from an all-star lineup of his favorite hip-hop and R&B artists. Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, the Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Common and Dead Prez and are slated to take part, with Chappelle serving as master of ceremonies for the event. Neighborhood jam will go down September 18 in a secret location.
