Make Your Own Music Video
Posted 10/14/2002 by Geffen
Call it a star search for hot young video directors, as MCA quartet Box Car Racer sponsors a contest inviting fans to make their own B.C.R. music video. The contest, which runs through November 8th, is open to all B.C.R. fans. The grand prize winner will be flown to a secret location to pick up a new digital video camera, awarded by the members of Box Car Racer themselves, Thomas DeLonge (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Travis Barker (drums, arrangements), David Kennedy (guitar), and Anthony Celestino (bass).
Contestants must choose any song off Box Car Racer's current self-titled MCA album, and create an original music video for it (it doesn't need to be as long as the entire song). Creativity and style count most, not technical mastery.
Submission forms are available by clicking on "Entry Form" at the band's website, boxcarracer.com. All videos will be reviewed personally by the band members. The top three submissions will be available for viewing on Boxcarracer.com.
Tom DeLonge of blink-182 is the driving force behind Box Car Racer, whose self-titled debut MCA album arrived in stores earlier this year. DeLonge wrote all the material, played lead guitar and bass, and sang on the album. Rounding out the band is blink-182 drummer Travis Barker (who also did arrangements for the album), and Dave Kennedy, from punk band, Over My Dead Body, on rhythm guitar. Jerry Finn, who has produced the last three blink-182 records (as well as CDs from Green Day, Sum-41, etc.) took the helm for Boxcar Racer.

...A new song by Box Car Racer and it's called "There Is." There is... heh... also a new video as well. The video was directed by Alexander Kosta and man, it's raining! It's got a Say Anything vibe to it... sort of... kinda.
Watch it.
