Out of Our Heads: Honest. By SC.Posted 6/13/2008 by IGA I am blogging from Los Angeles where we have just finished and released my new video for "Out of Our Heads."
I am really excited about it. This song is, perhaps, the most important song on the record. When sending it out to radio as a single, we were met with a lot of reticence over it's "political" themes. I don't feel the song is political but instead very honest. Moreover, I feel it to be a very hopeful song about the possibility that exists in all of us to reach greatness if motivated purely from the heart.
I heard the Dalai Lama speak 3 years ago in Sun Valley. His message was on compassion. His anointed thought was that if all people, from all walks of life, were motivated purely from a place of compassion, the world would be in a completely different place.
I know that daily life is challenging but I think about that idea throughout my days and it seems to make things less conflicted.
This video is filled with people we all know... I will leave it at that, except to say, I am really proud of it.
