Back to the good old rock! I love it!
best song i have heard in ages, this song lifted me up when i was in the middle of some pretty bad times! i bought the original version off I-tunes, was wondering if this is only on the CD version of the album? or whether it will be put on I-tunes at a later date?
Anyways! keep up the great work chris!
I love this version :)
It would be a treat if we could have a rock version of all the songs, don't get me wrong I love the album, just that I am greedy :)
This version is a great version of an already fantastic song. I don't agree with the comment from rhinosaurOne; "A Part of Me" is not foreign and is definitely a Cornell song sung with emotion and passion like any Chris Cornell song. Scream is his best release to date - I can't get enough of it. How do we get all of these different versions? Keep it going Chris.
I enjoyed the Howard Benson version of this song more so than the album version. It would be excellent to get another version of Scream done by Benson, with a few minor changes: First excise "Part of Me" from the new album, I despise that song (never thought I'd say that about a Chris Cornell song). I think most real fans would agree with me that it is the only track off Scream that just does not sound like it came from Chris Cornell. It sounds exceedingly foreign and out of place, whereas I really hear him in the lyrics of the other tracks, if not so much in the music. To make up for the loss of "Part of Me" "Two Drink Minimum" and "Ordinary Girl" could be added, hell maybe even another new song just to entice people to buy it (though I'm sure most of us posting here would need no enticement to purchase a new Cornell album).
Having said that, I have to say that I saw his last concert in Prague and it was really impressive. We haven't lost the old Chris yet. Even though he cannot hit the high notes anymore, he can give a great show and make people wanna see it over and over again :)
Gotta say it was a little let down this new album.. I enjoy listening to his music regardless of the power they have. I love Soundgarden music as much as Euphoria Morning but Scream is something I never thought Chris would record. To be honest - I don't think he enjoys it himself.. but I don't blame him - money is the real king of this world.
Gotta be honest.. not a big fan of the new album.. but i must say this single encompasses a sound which is reminiscent, but also is new and fresh. This is the song that will stick. Good work CC.
